Informing EU adaptation and sustainable finance policies

Strengthening the alignment between climate adaptation needs and European policy frameworks

It translates CLIMATEFIT’s technical results and field experience into actionable insights for European policymakers and practitioners. By connecting territorial realities with financial system constraints, this result supports better-informed EU adaptation and sustainable finance policies.

What is Project Result 6?

Project Result 6 ensures that the knowledge, tools and lessons developed throughout CLIMATEFIT contribute to shaping European discussions on climate adaptation finance.

Building on evidence from territories, Financial & Investment Entities and Local Resilience Taskforces, it consolidates policy-relevant findings and formulates clear recommendations. It addresses structural financing gaps, regulatory barriers and enabling conditions necessary to scale up adaptation investment across Europe.

It does not simply summarise findings, it translates them into structured policy-oriented recommendations designed to improve regulatory clarity, financial incentives and alignment between public adaptation needs and financial system expectations.

By doing so, PR6 positions CLIMATEFIT within broader EU debates on adaptation, resilience and sustainable finance architecture.
