Description

Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) is an international non-profit research organisation whose mission is to support decision-making and induce change towards sustainable development by providing integrative knowledge that bridges science and policy. The institute works to reduce climate risk, promote sustainable resource use and resilient ecosystems, and improve health and well-being through three types of outcomes: changing agendas, enhancing capacities and improving decisions. SEI has established itself as an influential knowledge provider, catalyst and boundary partner in the context of climate change, disaster risk reduction, and natural resource governance. The Stockholm Environment Institute consists of a Foundation (Stiftelsen) and several separate legal entities, including SEI Oxford.

Role in the project

SEI will deliver roadmaps for developing concrete and scalable investment plans This includes identifying revenue streams and Incentive Mechanisms for resilience projects, estimating the resource needs and costs for prioritised projects, and guidance on the necessary resource mobilisation and financing activities. SEI will also engage with Financing & Investment Entities to initiate discussions around private sector engagement in climate resilience and will articulate investment concepts and Adaptation Funding and Financing Solutions to help accelerate this investment.
